The high performance Focus SVT debuted in 2002 and is equipped with a 4-cylinder, 170-hp engine and a Getrag six-speed-manual gearbox. Originally developed by Ford's Special Vehicle Team, they were also produced in the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two-door is the SVT ZX3 model and the four-door hatchback is the SVT ZX5 model.
Appearance wise, they differ from the other Focus hatchbacks with unique front and rear fascias, grilles, special rocker panel moldings and a rear spoiler on the top of the hatch. Also, inspired from the Cobra R, they have five-spoke wheels with 17-inch tires. Anti-lock brakes and side airbags are standard.
The handling and performance is exceptional. From a standstill the acceleration is impressive, so there will be no trouble passing or merging. The clutch action and gearbox are smooth and make this a really fun car to drive.
