The Millenia was Mazda's top of the line vehicle. This vehicle, with it's very smooth drive and all the bells and whistles, really is an entry-level luxury vehicle without the entry level price. The Miller Cycle engine, a 2.3 liter V6 with 210 horsepower, gets great acceleration, despite its small displacement (the base model is a 2.5 liter V6 with 170 horsepower).
Despite the increase in power, the Millenia S gas mileage is EPA rated at 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, as opposed to the less powerful base model V6 mileage of 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. This is a nice feat ... similar fuel economy but with more power.
The Millenia S also comes with a four-speed automatic transmission, antilock brakes, traction control and front seat side airbags standard.
Newly designed for all 2001 Millenia models are new front and rear fascias, hood, front bumper, fenders, headlights and taillights ... plus an additional 2 inches in length.
