The Kelley Blue Book value of this Protege was $7,985 (at the time), which, in our humble opinion, exposes KBB's "Achilles Heel". Overall, we feel KBB is pretty much on target. But they don't seem to know what to do with extremely low-mileage vehicles. In this case, for example, the default mileage for a 2000 Protege is 68,000 which they value at $7,485. What, just a $500 difference for a vehicle with nearly a third of the mileage? Well, YOU be the judge. Please shop around and see if we're right on this. The bottom line is that we're able to sell this car with 27,100 miles at less than the Kelley Blue Book value for one with 68,000 miles.
