Chevrolet Camaro:

At a time when car shoppers have been shifting their focus towards fuel efficient vehicles and environmentally friendly sports cars, the Chevy Camaro's continued popularity is clear evidence of America's continued passion for muscle cars. And the Camaro is certainly a good one.

2015 Chevy Camaro

Updated in 2014, the lastest version of this classic has been wildly successful and the 2015 will likely be no different. From its impressive power to its athletic road manners to its head-turning styling, driving enthusiasts continue to be mesmerized, and rightfully so. And to put things a bit into perspective, the 30-mpg V6 version of the 2015 model actually pumps out 53 more horsepower than a 1979 Camaro Z28.

Whether opting for the entry-level model, the track-inspired Z28 or the supercar-like ZL1, the Camaro boldly exemplifies an American tradition bound to continue.

Pros:

   Brisk acceleration with all engines
   Head-turning design
Confident and atthletic handling with precise steering
Decent gas mileage given the muscle - 19 mpg city / 30 hwy / 22       combined (LS and LT models)
Five-star crash test scores both front and side
   Excellent brake distance scores
   Coupe and convertible models
   Overall thrilling to drive

Cons:

Sharp design severely limits driver visibility
Cramped backseat - least legroom of the musclecars
   Small trunk opening
A lot of hard plastic surfaces cheapen the interior
A rough ride is a tradeoff for the sport suspension
Headroom issues for taller drivers due to the low-slung roof
Very small sun visors are almost useless
Track-ready Z28 is a breathtaking drive, but too much car                  for everyday driving?

Chevrolet Cruze:

The Cruze is an attractively styled sedan that now matches up quite well with traditional segment leaders such as the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

2015 Chevrolet Cruze

In addition to its good looks, both inside and out, the Cruze's fuel economy is another strong selling point, with combined city and highway ratings in the low 30 mpg range. What's more, and certainly rare in this segment, the Cruze can also be had with a diesel-powered engine.

Also a plus in the compact segment, the Cruze can be further upscaled with additional safety feature options such as blind-spot monitoring and parking assist, once available only in much pricier vehicles.

Pros:

   Responsive and secure handling
   Comfortable ride quality
   Two high-efficiency engine choices
   Upscale looking interior design
   Large trunk
   Excellent visibility
Small turning radius - great in parking lots
Better power (and mpg) in the turbocharged and diesel versions
A more solid overall feel than most economy cars
   Five-star crash test scores

Cons:

   Moderate passenger space
The six-speed automatic can seem to lag at times
   No rear cupholders
   Adequate power but not brisk
The diesel lacks a manual transmission option

Chevrolet Equinox:

The 2015 Equinox is both more upscale and quiet than most of its segment rivals, while also providing the interior versatility and overall price value that many consumers are looking for. Frankly, it's hard to tell it's a budget-minded vehicle.

2015 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox boasts a clean and even sporty exterior, while the interior offers a more premium look and feel than one might expect. Its also been designed with families in mind. There's enough room in the back seat for two adults to stretch around comfortably, the legroom is quite sufficient for most, while the seatbacks are also adjustable when needed.

And with the two rear cargo wells and deep center console, there's plenty of room for cargo or smaller items to be neatly tucked away.

Pros:

More premium looking inside and out
   There's a strong optional V6 available
   Quiet interior
Smooth ride, particularly on the highway
   Spacious and adjustable rear seat
3,500 pound towing capacity when properly equipped
   Good gas mileage from the four-cylinder - 22 city / 32 highway
Lots of standard features for the dollar

Cons:

Four-cylinder model can feel a bit sluggish on the highway
   Rather bland overall driving dynamics
   Unimpressive V6 EPA ratings
Less cargo space than some rivals
   Steering isn't particularly precise
Aging - no refresh since 2010
Driver visibility issues due to thick rear pillars
